Our values
The Unity Party was founded on August 6th, 2011, through the merging of the following three parties – New Era, Civic Union, and Society for Political Change. Unity is now the largest centrist political party in Latvia, driven by the shared aims of collaborative work and fruitful discussion in ensuring a balance between European liberal, conservative, and social values.
EPP PROGRAMME
A democratic, well-governed, and effective Europe that is in close touch with its citizens. A prosperous, thriving Europe built on the principles of free markets and social justice. These are the values for which the centre-right European People’s Party has stood for since its establishment in 1976. The Unity political party is part of the European People’s Party along with 76 other political parties across Europe.
OUR PRESENCE IN BRUSSELS
Since the founding of Unity, our political orientation has been consistent and clear. While we can discuss the most effective way forward in terms of Euro-Atlantic integration, our firm commitment to Western democratic values is beyond debate. Our place is unequivocally in Europe.
Unity members are not only active in the European Commission and the EPP Group of the European Parliament, but they have become respected politicians and authorities across the entire European Union. Our ideas and contributions are valued and trusted.
UNITY YOUTH ORGANISATION
The Unity Youth Organisation brings together bright, talented, and naturally curious future leaders, to participate in meaningful debates on the pressing issues of the day, and facilitate their first steps into political activism. Our team is now proud to have more than 100 members. The Unity Youth Organisation actively partakes in events hosted by youth organisations, such as YEPP and NKSU, as well as participates in numerous international projects every year. We can confidently say that these young leaders are not only active in Latvia, but embody a genuine European spirit!
